At Children Can, we long to see every generation knowing Jesus, enjoying His presence and living out their God-given calling. We help parents, grandparents and churches disciple the next generation, bringing biblical vision together with practical support for everyday life.
Our name expresses our conviction: children can know God personally, be filled with the Holy Spirit, understand His Word and be used by Him. From the earliest moments in the womb, through childhood and into adulthood, we believe God is at work. We want to help families and churches recognise what He is doing and nurture faith that lasts.
Knowing God and living for Him
We love seeing children and young people discover the adventure of following Jesus. They can pray, worship, hear His voice, share the gospel and serve others today. As they grow, we want to help them develop godly character, take responsibility and make choices rooted in Scripture.
Our desire is to see a living relationship with God shaping their whole week: at home, at school, among friends and in the wider world. Children can grow deeply in faith while still enjoying being children.
Nurturing faith at home
Parents have a central place in God’s plan for passing on faith. We encourage and equip them to put Jesus at the centre of family life, with simple, practical ways to pray, explore the Bible and grow together.
We also champion the vital contribution of grandparents and spiritual grandparents. Through their prayers, stories, example and relationships, they can help younger generations discover God’s faithfulness. Whatever a family’s circumstances, we want to help people recognise the opportunities they have and take their next step with confidence.
Connecting the generations
We believe God intends families to be supported by the wider church, with every generation contributing to the life of His people. Children, young people and adults all have something to give and something to receive.
Our heart is to see relationships grow across the generations as people worship, learn, pray and serve together. We equip church leaders and ministry teams to nurture these connections and help children and young people take their place in the body of Christ.
Equipping and gathering
Through books, family devotions, media, training and events, we serve families and churches at every stage. Our work includes pregnancy ministry through Expectant, resources for children and young people, support for parents and grandparents, and practical training for leaders. Encounter Days and The Bible Experience create opportunities for children to explore Scripture and respond to God.
We help bring children’s and family ministry leaders together through Hand in Hand Conference, creating space to be inspired, receive practical training and connect with others who share their calling.
We also lead the National Christian Grandparents Conference, encouraging grandparents to embrace their God-given role in passing on faith.
Alongside our resources, forums and support for local groups, the conference helps grandparents find fresh vision and practical encouragement for their families.
Taking the message to the nations
Our calling has taken us to many countries, sharing this message with churches, leaders, parents, grandparents, children and young people. Through conferences, training, camps and ministry events, we have encouraged believers across different cultures to recognise the spiritual potential of the next generation.
Wherever we travel, our heart remains the same: to see children encounter Jesus, families grow in faith and generations take their place together in God’s purposes. We love serving alongside local churches and ministries, helping them put biblical principles into practice in their own communities.
Our story
Children Can was founded in 2010 by Olly and Helen Goldenberg, drawing on many years of ministry with children, young people and families, including 15 years as children’s pastors. Their experience of seeing God work in children’s lives, both in the UK and around the world, continues to shape the ministry’s vision and approach.
At the heart of everything we do is a desire to see the next generation rooted in God’s Word, led by His Spirit and surrounded by generations who will encourage them to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
